Return to Thomson Reserve: latest update, project facts and floor plans

What is verified about Thomson Reserve’s MRT access?

CapitaLand describes Thomson Reserve as having direct connectivity to Upper Thomson MRT Station. This is the verified developer description, rather than an invented one- or two-minute walk. Upper Thomson is TE8 on the Thomson–East Coast Line.

The practical benefit is access to the TEL corridor for repeated journeys. The exact route from your tower, the pedestrian connection, shelter, crossings and travel time to your destination still need checking. The word “direct” alone does not establish an underground link or a fully sheltered route. Start with the Thomson Reserve project page and location map.

What should a commuter actually test?

Break the journey into tower-to-exit, exit-to-station entrance, entrance-to-platform and the train or interchange journey. Compare that entire trip with your present home. The preferred tower matters because six blocks share a large site, and a project-level MRT statement is not the same as every home having an identical door-to-platform journey.

Use SMRT’s station information to identify the entrance relevant to your destination. Test a weekday morning and evening where possible. A parent with a pram or a household member with limited mobility may value lifts, gradients and crossings differently from a solo commuter.

Thomson Plaza and daily errands

Thomson Plaza’s own getting-here page directs visitors via Upper Thomson MRT, using the mall entrance near DBS/7-11. The mall provides shopping and dining options; use its live directory for stores you rely on because tenants change.

Sean’s analysis: convenient errands can be a stronger own-stay benefit than a long list of destinations. Map a realistic weekly pattern: groceries, meals, pharmacy or other regular needs. Check the actual walking route from the development, especially carrying shopping or in rain. No unmeasured project-to-mall walking time is stated here.

Ai Tong School: nearby does not settle admission

Ai Tong School lists its address as 100 Bright Hill Drive and identifies Bright Hill MRT as its nearest station. Thomson Reserve’s addresses are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 Bright Hill Drive. Sharing a road name does not certify a home-school distance band.

Confirm the actual residential address through the applicable school-distance and Primary 1 process, then review the registration phase and vacancy conditions. A map illustration cannot guarantee a place. The Ai Tong School buyer guide explains the checks without assigning an unverified within-1-km label.

Windsor Nature Park and MacRitchie are different destinations

NParks lists Windsor Nature Park at 30 Venus Drive. Its route guidance gives a 1.2km walk from Upper Thomson MRT, not from a Thomson Reserve tower. NParks also describes the MacRitchie trail network within Central Catchment Nature Reserve. A nature-park entrance, reservoir park and TreeTop Walk are different points, so do not collapse them into a single “nearby park” journey.

Sean’s view: the setting is useful for a household that will actually use walking and nature routes. It is less persuasive as a price premium for someone whose daily needs are elsewhere. Identify the particular entrance, route and activity before buying for the greenery. Consult current park notices and trail guidance rather than assuming every path is equally short or accessible.

Separate existing convenience from future plans

Upper Thomson MRT is an existing transport anchor. Future connections shown on marketing maps must remain labelled as future infrastructure, with their current status checked through the responsible transport authority. Do not price a present journey using a service that is not yet operating.

The same principle applies to views. A nature-facing outlook depends on the actual stack, elevation, intervening buildings and applicable planning context. An artist’s impression and a district-level description do not guarantee an unobstructed outlook from every apartment.

A route checklist worth completing

Choose the relevant tower and pedestrian exit. Walk to the station and mall. Check a school route separately from its admission-distance band. Visit the chosen park entrance. Review driveways and busy common areas at the intended stack. Record what you observed and what remains proposed. The strongest location decision is the one that supports the household’s repeated week, not a single scenic sales visit.

Supplied Thomson Reserve factsheet dated 22 September 2026 and floor-plan materials dated 21 September 2026 provide the layout and maintenance figures. CapitaLand supports the MRT description; Thomson Plaza, Ai Tong School and NParks Windsor Nature Park provide their own access details. NParks’ MacRitchie trail guide distinguishes nature destinations.

Released unit-specific prices, live stock, exact preview dates and address-specific school-distance classification were not verified for this review. These items must be refreshed when reliable information is available.

Questions buyers ask

Is Thomson Reserve directly connected to Upper Thomson MRT?

CapitaLand describes direct connectivity to Upper Thomson MRT. The wording does not by itself confirm a fully sheltered or underground route, and no measured walking time is quoted here.

Is Windsor Nature Park the same destination as MacRitchie Reservoir Park?

No. They are different access points in the wider nature setting. Choose the particular entrance and activity before assessing the journey.

Are travel times the same from all six towers?

That has not been established. Check the relevant tower, pedestrian exit, station entrance and full door-to-destination route.
